05:00 PM ET 10.17 | Reports are beginning to swirl that the Miami Dolphins are in pursuit of Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Dwayne Bowe via trade. Earlier this month, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross delivered the message to Dolphins employees that Miami will do "whatever it takes" to acquire a number one target. He went as far as to call getting a top pass catcher the team's "top offseason priority" during the meeting. If the Dolphins can successfully pull off a trade for Bowe, Ross will have accomplished his mission of finding rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill a number one threat.

Why not? KC isn't using him. Maybe Miami can give KC one of their back-up QB's for him--Moore would be an upgrade over any of the KC QBs.

Moore would be a HUGE upgrade over Quinn, Stanzi and Cassel. He'd even win some games for them.
And Bowe would have career numbers with Ryan Tannehill throwing him the ball, he has a very solid year with Cassel slinging it a couple years ago.
But this is the Chiefs and Pioli, they can't do things that are good for the franchise.

Bowe is over-rated. Miami would be better off going for a potential top target receiver who is currently a number 2 or 3 (e.g. James Jones of GB).

James Jones is pretty good but he is not as good as Dwayne Bowe,but don't get too excited people cause chances are the Bowe's agent might have just floated this rumor to try & drum up a trade for Bowe.Also keep in mind that if Dwayne Bowe has any bagage at all Miami won't even consider him.

lets be somewhat realistic. the chiefs aren't going to trade away a franchise WR for another average QB. they are going to want a pick. i would not want the fins to give up anything more than a 3rd for him. they need to continue building through the draft. add to that bowes contract demand. the fins don't have the cap room. so who would they have to dump/trade to KC to fit bowe? i just don't see it happening.

If Miami does trade for him the cost would probably be Matt Moore & a 2nd round pick,the question is does KC consider Matt Moore a big upgrade over Matt Cassell ?.

I've thought that too about Bowe at times, but I wonder if inconsistent QB play has a lot to do with it
