Chizik feeling the urgency at Auburn

08:20 AM ET 10.18 | Playing as an underdog this weekend against Vanderbilt isn't exactly what Auburn fans had in mind, and Tigers coach Gene Chizik was asked Wednesday for the right word to describe his football team. He passed on the questioner's "desperate" and "dejected." "I would say if you were going to use the word, 'urgency' is the name of the game," Chizik said during the SEC teleconference. Auburn will play Vanderbilt in Nashville on Saturday needing a win. The Tigers are 1-5 overall, 0-4 in in the SEC. Critics have taken note. "We don't let the outside distractions become a part of who we are," Chizik said. Chizik is instead worried about beating Vanderbilt. The Commodores have only two wins, yet are a touchdown favorite.

If you fire the head coach that won you a BCS title, than what are the standards? To have a coach that will continually give you 10 win seasons like Mark Richt and then constantly complain about him becuase he never has won you the title? Keep Chizik at least for another year.
