08:27 AM ET 10.18 | Saying, "They're trying to sway public opinion," consider Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews among players not all that impressed by the NHL's latest proposal on a new collective bargaining agreement. "It's something, but it's not anything to get overly excited about," Toews said Wednesday after a news conference to promote the "Champs for Charity" game Oct. 26 at Allstate Arena. "We'll look at it and consider it and see where we go from there." The league offered a 50-50 split of hockey-related revenue Tuesday with the intention of saving an 82-game regular season. ... "If they were that desperate to conserve an 82-game season and get things done, this would have been done already. There's no real effort there."

I disagree. He's right. The players shouldn't concede any more than they already have. You can't have owners crying over their take when they're the ones signing the deals in the first place. I get sick of hearing guys like Craig Leipold whining how the system is broken and player salaries are out of control and killing the revenue, then watching him turn around and add $196 million in payroll on TWO players just weeks later.

The Dwarf may be a jerk (OK, sorry, he IS a jerk) but when the League has to negotiate individually with 700 geniuses it takes about 193 times longer than it should.

I concur. And Little Johnny might have to change his name to "You can't be Serious Captain."

Well said....although it won't happen without the Players having to give a little on their stance.

What a Maroon . This gentle readers is what happens when someone makes way to much dough at an early age and has no clue what reality is.
