08:17 AM ET 10.19 | Close to signing a deal to play in Europe, Patrick Kane has decided to stay put for now. "I would say I was close maybe a week or two ago to going over," Kane said. "I'm just kind of waiting for the right situation. You hear the negotiations are going better and you don't want to make any rush to get over there and have to come back in a couple of weeks. As of now I think it's kind of on hold, especially with everything that's going on," added Kane, who is scheduled to play in an exhibition game "Champs for Charity" on Oct. 26 at Allstate Arena. ... Kane said if he does decide to go to Europe, he has destinations in mind. "We're talking to some different teams in Switzerland and Sweden, mostly, so probably one of those two," Kane said.
