Richard Petty and Ford re-sign

12:27 PM ET 10.19 | The battle is finally over for the King, Richard Petty and his Richard Petty Motorsports team. After months of negotiations, the team has come to an agreement with Ford Motor Company for the 2013 season. Petty is working on his 2012 driver lineup for the Sprint Cup Series. Marcos Ambrose is expected by many to return, but not too many people are sure of the fate of Aric Almirola. His performances were definitely not what they expected when they signed him for this season. For the Nationwide Series program, Michael Annett will more than likely return especially with his sponsorship security and the top-10 points run they've had this year. The team will look to improve on that and win the 2013 Nationwide Series championship. Some Sprint Cup races may also be included in his 2013 plans with the team.

We knew this was coming....glad it worked out.
As for Almirola...he is currently 21st in standingsand all the free ones are lower......so RPM is cuaght between a rock and a hard place with driver choices.

I think if Annett was ready to move up, Almirola would be out the door, but Annett himself said he isn't ready. Maybe next year.
