Cancelled NHL games could still be made up

07:24 AM ET 10.20 | The NHL unsurprisingly canceled all games through Nov. 1 yesterday. But the fact the league still left its proposed start date of Nov. 2 on the board could be a real reason for optimism. Commissioner Gary Bettman, Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs and the league contingent essentially stormed out of NHLPA offices in Toronto on Thursday after quickly rejecting three union proposals. Bettman's actions and words left the impression that the two sides were farther apart than they had been prior to the NHL's Tuesday proposal that included a 50-50 split of revenues and other player givebacks, though the numbers suggest differently. In all, 135 NHL games have been canceled, though they would be rescheduled if a deal was struck on time.

The NHLPA takes hours reading over the NHL's proposal but the NHL only takes minutes looking at 3 of the NHLPA's proposals.........PFFFT...........i dont think there's gonna be a season this year...

It is wonderful to see all the rich people fighting over how they are going to divide up the taxpayer money that subsidizes an NHL that is incapable of surviving like a real business.
