Yankees GM: No plans to trade A-Rod

07:38 AM ET 10.20 | Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said by phone he isn't going to shop Alex Rodriguez. "He's our third baseman,'' Cashman said. "I'm going to focus on other areas.'' Pressed a bit further, Cashman reiterated that he has no plans or expectations to talk about trades for A-Rod. "No, I'm not,'' he said, flatly. There was a Keith Olbermann report of a preliminary discussion between the Yankees and Marlins, but that appears to be limited at this point to one humorous conversation between Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria and Yankees president Randy Levine back in April, in which Loria kidded about A-Rod being "Mr. Miami'' and how he should be a Marlin, and Levine jokingly responded by saying, "You can have him.'' Subsequently, sources close to both the Marlins and Dodgers, the other most logical suitor, have suggested to CBSSports.com they have no interest at the present time in Rodriguez. And one A.L. scout said, "I can't believe anyone would be interested.''

OK, but you know that if a deal could be worked out with Miami and Arod agreed to it, it would be done.

The bigger question regarding Arod, is when and how to use him going forward. That will change regardless.

Make him a full time DH, and find a regular 3B.

The problem with making him a DH is he isn't really doing the H part that well...

QUOTE(#10):

he is the 3b manwe just can't afford to bring in another high priced guy at this point, cause they want to get under the 189 mil cap #.they might consider platooning him at 3r with say chavez again

They need to find 400 AB for Nunez somehow. Short RH hitters, and he can hit. It is the rest of it that is the problem. If they cannot do that, then move him. He has sat around too long.

he might not dominate as he did back in 2006, but he should adjust his batting style AROD has to change his approach towards the home plate can't continue use the same and old style from ten years ago!!!!
