08:05 AM ET 10.20 | Nothing illustrates Texas' recent Big 12 struggles better than its Big 12 series with Baylor. Baylor enters Saturday's meeting with Austin trying to do something it's never done, beat Texas three consecutive times in a rivalry that goes back 111 years. While Mack Brown's job doesn't seem to be in any immediate jeopardy now, with the support of the administration and boosters, things can change. For the moment, Brown hadn't yet begun to question his program and his ability to return to the pre-2010 standard. "No, I think it makes me stronger in my belief," Brown said. "Because when you get kicked in the face like that, you're competitive and you're determined to make sure that you don't let it happen and get it back." Texas (4-2, 1-2) was supposed to be better, in a building process back to national championship contender status in 2013. In that context, Baylor becomes an interesting measuring stick.

Mack bet the farm on the new assistants making a difference. They haven't. Now he needs to take more control.

So who do you think can come in and do better? Please don't say Kirby Smart.
And ... will Joe Jamail approve?
Red McCombs?
Jim Bob Moffitt?
Rex Tillerson?
Hicks?
Rich boosters can't pick a coach any better than delusional fans. To get desperate and hurry through the process could prove to be a disaster. If the boosters get "their guy" it could be a worse disaster.

But is the offense really your problem this year?
111 points given up in your last two games, and 45 ppg over the last four.
The offense is not what's costing MB victories.

1 - Will Coach Boom choose to stay in Gainesville if ("when" if they lose to Bible Aggy tonight) the job in Austin comes open? Would Peterson be interested? Dana? Chip?
Hell, if Bible Aggy wins tonight, maybe we just lure Briles into our locker room after the game.
2 - Who the [***censored***] decided to demote Guyer to 4A? And why the [***censored***] did they have to be in Rider's district.

Mack and the Longhorns biggest mistaken was to allow, a very good "defensive" assistant coach to leave to become HC at Florida!!!

1. No clue...you're welcome to Peterson but hands off on Patterson. lol
2. UIL (University Interscholastic League) (I think) determines which schools fall into the various classifications according to enrollment from year to year. Don't know any specifics as to how they make their determinations but for instance for this year Stephenville was moved from 4-A to 3-A as I think Mineral Wells was last year but placed in different districts. Graham and Brownwood are still 3-A. Weatherford has been 5-A for a long time now, as Aledo has been 4-A. Breckenridge is I think 2-A. In the last century when I was in school Rider was in the same 3-A district with Brownwood, Graham, Mineral Wells, Stephenville, Weatherford and sometimes Breckenridge or not. Rider was the new school at the time. Have slept too much over the years to actually remember specifics.
