Spurs to decide between Eddy Curry or Derrick Brown

10:53 AM ET 10.21 | Ten days before the start of the regular season, there technically remain four candidates to claim the Spurs' 15th and final roster spot. Before Saturday's 104-101 loss at Miami, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich winnowed the field further. "We're looking at basically two guys, Eddy Curry and Derrick Brown," Popovich said. Curry, a 29-year-old center whose career has become synonymous with squandered promise, has throughout the preseason displayed a consistent ability to put the ball in the basket. In his Saturday return to Miami, where he was a little-used member of last season's NBA championship squad, Curry contributed nine points in less than eight minutes. "Eddy lost 20 pounds to come to camp, and he's played through being tired, which has always been a bugaboo for him in the past," Popovich said. "He's worked very hard, and he's done a lot of good things."

Yeah, that looks like who it is going to be. Curry is in shape and has done well on offense, but defense and rebounds are still lacking. Brown has done very well, especially on offense.
Spurs need a big that can defend and rebound. Brown is a little small and Curry is lacking in sikills, It will be interesting to see who they go with.

Yeah, his offense was good. Shot good from the FT line, which he hasn't done well in the other pre-season games. If Spurs don't take, some other team will.

Yeah, Brown did do well with Charlotte. Spurs are hoping he can do even better within their system, and so far he has.

When the Knicks had the misfortune of Eddy Curry on the roster, you and your ilk were mad as heck.
Now that the Knicks are free from that mess, you revel in another???s misfortune (should they sign him, of course).
Now, DO remember, I am not disapproving it...LOVE seeing the worst in people.

Hey CS. Don't take too personally what people say about a player's skill level on here.
Curry is an amaziing comeback story in the making. He's done this great job of overcoming a lot of personal challenges, lost 100+lbs and is slowly getting his game back together. He's on the right track and may have the last laugh yet. Even if the Spurs don't pick him up, there are a number of teams that will.

Why would you make fun of Pop or the Spurs? You can bring in the biggest punk or bust, the Spurs will make it work.
There is also nothing to laugh about, the spurs have been doing great for over a decade. Show me which team is more consistent?

Lakers Suck.... their greed for the almighty dollar has reached new heights with this Time Warner cable deal.. I am no longer able to even watch in market Laker games on my TV.. I do not have Time Warner cable along withthe other millions of dedicated fans in the greater Los Angeles area. Time Warner isnt even available for me to even purchase in my city even if I wanted it?? think the Lakers care? hell no!!! the greed for the $$$ is so great they can afford to basically give their loyalist of fans the finger... Well I say enough is enough F. YOU Lakers.. You can kiss my arse !! I dont know why the city of Los Angeles allows them to be called the "LOS ANGELES" Lakers... cause they dont belong to Los Angeles?? they ought to be called the Time Warner Lakers ???

Oh stop crying, the deal will be done right before opening night or a little bit afterwards. I actually watched the game on my laptop with my girl, just google "live nba streaming games for free" and a bunch of links come up, and if you have an hdmi hookup you can stream it to your tv.
