Redskins to sign TE Chris Cooley

09:39 PM ET 10.21 | There's a certain justice in the NFL that always seems to come around. When a guy gets injured, it seems he usually resurfaces in a backup role to the guy he was replaced by and gives being a starter one more go of it. Chris Cooley wasn't injured, but he was ousted from Washington by Fred Davis and the cast of Redskins tight ends. Now, Daniel Snyder is opening up the checkbook (a little) to bring the man he wouldn't even let play on his special teams units back to Washington. Cooley was publicly cut loose by the Redskins during the preseason and he hasn't found a job since then. He spent his entire career with the Redskins and owns just about every receiving record not owned by a guy they call Art Monk. But now Cooley is getting a chance to get a proper send off from the Redskins and the reason for that is a season ending injury to the guy who replaced him.

Chris is a solid guy, if a wee bit wacky. He deserves a better send-off than he got. best to him.

Soooooooo..... I lose a comment for pointing out a spelling error? Someone tell DJ he's about to lose 87% of his comments. Or is it only when you point out the spelling error of someone being paid to write?

Uhm, "Hail to Who?", thought so. RGIII you heard of the JPP, RGIII you heard of the JPP? Sure ya did, he got in that ass (sacks) twice. And OBTW RG, you post game statement of "There's games you lose that you shouda won", news fa ya buddy, "It don't work that way Rook, grow up". I say that to say this "ya didn't hear the Blue crying ova spilled milk in that lose to the Eagles, no, we sucked it up and moved on quietly and along the way have dissed a lotta so call elite teams in 49ers and so on, anyways, you get the picture I would hope. There will be a second time around in Washington for redemption, just as the Blue will see the Boys next week. Simply don't cry about it, just get the job done the next time around. Look at the Blue sitting at 5-2, 1st place with some very impressive wins........"thats how it gets done baby! Apple and I'm out!

Giants got lucky against a team that has been decimated by injury....and JPP got juked out of his shoes on numerous plays....

Maybe a little bit of a let down after crushing the 49ers last week, maybe a little too much RGIII at times; but the Giants played like a veteran, championship team and made the clutch plays when they had to. And Eli Mannning has to have ice water in his veins.

Yeah yeah yeah, I know, "the Giants got lucky" that phrase always seems to be the story. Remember after last year's NFC championship game? Remember both superbowls with the Pats? Remember both the NFC championship game and divisional game against the Pack in Green Bay, both times? Remember all of those games?.......yeah, yeah, yeah "the Giants got lucky"! They hit the jackpot everytime.

When you put the ball up as much as Eli, you're gonna occasionally make a completion but the giants played like crap despite the Skins not having their top 2 D linemen Orakpo and Carriker...and then Davis, RGIII's primary receiver, went down for the season with an achilles injury and they still rolled on down the field...thrown in the numerous holding penalties that weren't called on the gints O line, you have a crappy team getting lucky...

And his head coach said as much during his post victory interview, yeah, " ice water in his veins".

if you actually WATCH the games, then you HAVE to admit it's luck...or is trapping the pass against the helmet a designed play? Giants get the lucky breaks and the fans try to pretend it was all intentional...what a joke

yeah, the game against GB that would have been over with the Packers winning when the punt was blocked but the Packers' rookie defender tried to pick it up instead of falling on the ball which gave the ball back to the gints instead of letting the Pack kneel on it to run out the clock...or was that a designed play too?

basically, the giants try to take credit for the other teams' mistakes and injuries...they might as well be at the craps tables in vegas...
