08:10 AM ET 10.22 | For Alex Anthopoulos, it wasn't so much that John Farrell left, but how he left. [On Sunday], Anthopoulos cited frustration with informational leaks he suggested originated in Boston and referred to "gamesmanship" during negotiations for compensation to allow Farrell out of the final year of his Blue Jays contract. "I thought there was, to be completely candid, gamesmanship and a lot of things that went on from a negotiating standpoint, not on our end," Anthopoulos said. ... "There were some things, we don't know where it came from or how it started, but probably it didn't go as smoothly as we think it could have." Specifically, Anthopoulos wasn't happy that news of Farrell's move broke late Saturday night.

He acts like this was supposed to be some kind of secret. Everyone knew the Red Sox had the hots for Farrell and would pursue him to no end.

Mr. GM have you ever heard the phase ( there is a snake in the grass), and now all you have to do is find him.

All he had to say was no, Farrell is our manager and he's still under contract go away Ben.. But the bottom line is the Jay's didn't want the guy, but tried to pretend that they did. IMO, even though Avilas is just an average utility player, Boston overpaid for this guy.

over 500 AB's - 250 - 13 HRS, and an OBP of 280? That's the definition of average.

Just stop by his food kiosk outside Fenway...he signed my ticket a few years ago. Worth the trip from Denmark.

Will definitely do that next time I'm in Boston. Thanks for the tip!
