Luongo going immediately to Toronto?

08:22 AM ET 10.22 | Speculation or not, Toronto may well be the likeliest of destinations for a very expensive goaltender looking for a starting job. It's naive to think [Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke Canucks GM Mike Gillis] wouldn't talk simply because there's a prohibition on trade discussions during the National Hockey League lockout. What's unfathomable is that either would blab that they've finalized the trade of Canuck goalie Roberto Luongo, who is reportedly going to Toronto as soon as the labour war ends. The Leafs were the most interested suitor at the draft in June and their goaltending didn't get any better over the summer. Luongo still makes sense for them, but it will be interesting if he goes to Toronto to know whether it was Burke or Gillis who blinked.

I'm getting a feeling that this Burkie/Leaf/Luongo article will get the most comments today.

Ok...Seriously...Luongo a Leaf...is he a 5.3 million dollar question mark?
Does he make the Leafs better?
Do they need a starting goalie?
Can they do any worse than what they have been in goal for years?
Can the guy still play?
Well, the answer in no to the last question, same as everyone else this year.

Nope-dealing with bigger things. As a guy who pulls for the Leafs i cannot help but hope this rumour is completely false !!

Lord Irk never blinks...he was merely trying to keep his eyes open

Indeed...(about Canuck)
I don't know. I've mentioned before, I have always had a little affection for the leafs...maybe this could be a good change for both of them

Speaking of yesterday...I'm glad that Eager punched out the "doorman"...Those guys are just plain idiots...especially when they step outside. Smacked a few of them myself once they thought they were going to get any respect on the sidewalk. Idiots.
Meanwhile, Kane had the motor running in the get-a-way taxi.

So, the question is are the Canucks trying to move in on Boston's territory in terms of trading with the Leafs? ;)
