03:54 PM ET 10.22 | The Matt Cassel era in Kansas City is officially over. The Brady Quinn era has begun. Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel announced today that Brady Quinn will permanently take over the starting QB role in KC. The coach added that he did not want Quinn looking over his shoulder, promising that there would be no quick move back to Cassel. Crennel told reporters today that he needed to get the team's attention and change the dynamic. Making Quinn the starter will certainly do that. Whether or not there will be a difference in the win/loss column remains to be seen.

How does this dude still have a job????? The NFL loves to recycle backup QBs who cant play as long as they "look the part". You mean McNabb is worse than Quinn??? Geez...

QUOTE(#3):

Cassel has fallen hard and quickly.

At the end of the year, so will Romeo.

October 22, 2012  05:34 PM ET

O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy Castle and spurn thy Chief;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my coach,
And I'll no longer be a Quinn.
'Tis but my line that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Missourian.
What's Missourian? it is nor pass, nor run,
Nor block, nor tackle, nor any other play
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a call? that which we call a pick
By any other name would lose the ball;
So Romeo would, were a draw not call'd,
Retain that dear football which he holds
Like unto a loaf. Romeo, doff thy pink cap,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.

Zzzzzzz.......

This is actually a very smart move for KC.
This way they make sure they are in the top 3 in next year's draft and can catch a real QB.

What would Herm say ?

I always wondered if B. Quinn got a fair shot at QB in his first couple of years?
Now we'll find out if with a little experience he has the goods.
Seems like a decent guy; I'd like to see him make it.

I think so too. Plus they distribute some of the punishment to Quinn. When he gets too battered, they can let Stanzi take the punishment for a while. Either way, the new coach will have a high draft choice to play with.

This is your last shot Brady, better make the most of it...!

If every coach or GM thinks like you, then they would be fired the next day. Look, they are in a very weak division and first place is 3-3, not 6-0.
