08:09 AM ET 10.23 | Terry Francona took the first day of the rest of his life Monday, meeting the media in Cleveland. Toward the end of his stint as manager of the Red Sox -- a successful eight-year run marred by a disastrous end to the 2011 season -- Francona felt he got away from being an on-field influence. He is excited about getting back to some of the coaching aspects that can go along with managing a younger team like the Indians. "The last couple years in Boston," Francona said, "I felt like I was getting further and further from the field. My title didn't maybe need to be manager. It was like fire-putter-outer. I'm kind of looking forward to getting on the field a little bit and maybe having a chance to coach."

Management undermined Terry when they allowed players to go over his head directly to the GM and Owners to **** about whatever upset their spoiled little minds.

Terry had a clubhouse full of some of the most entitled whining players to be found in MLB. Will never forget Ortiz breaking into a postgame media conference to whine about the scorer not giving him a hit!

Hopefully, he will enjoy this gig in Cleveland; hope he finds some players with less attitude and more professionalism.

Well he'll find less attitude, now all he has to do is find "Players".

Pitching is an issue for the tribe. Attitude is good, but some live arms would be better.

I expect he will find some, it may take a while though.

the indians would likely need to hire a conssistant pitching coach and a tough agressive hitting coach, without this two elements the tribe could be in a deep hole!!!!

The Indians need to figure out a way to be competitive in the 2nd half of the season.

He's not going to be playing a lot of October baseball in the near future, that's what.

Franconia would be starting a new chapter in the Indians franchise,
Can't said he didn'T have good references from the good times in Boston...
