Vick's job is safe for now

11:08 AM ET 10.23 | Michael Vick is under a lot of scrutiny in Philadelphia these days. The veteran quarterback has shouldered much of the blame for the team's struggles this season, with more than a few wondering if he could get benched. Vick said this week that he and coach Andy Reid discussed the issue this week during the team's bye. Vick will remain the starter, and he expressed confidence that he would remain in that role.

Yes. There was a bare chance that Reid could re-tool the offense around the backup QB during the bye week. If he tried that, and it didn't work, he would be fired for sure. He seems to think the better chance is to roll the dice with Vick, hope for the best.
