04:21 PM ET 10.23 | While the Jacksonville Jaguars are receiving plenty of bad injury news over the past 24 hours, there is a slight reason to smile on the Maurice Jones-Drew front. Per multiple reports, the Jaguars star running back has avoided the dreaded Lisfranc injury and will not see his season come to an abrupt end. Instead, Jones-Drew is expected to only miss a few weeks with a mid-foot sprained. The good news is that Jones-Drew will return this season and he does not need surgery, but it is a major setback for the Jaguars, Jones-Drew who is seeking a long-term contract and all of his fantasy owners who will now be scrambling for a replacement. Rashad Jennings will carry the load for the Jaguars in Jones-Drew's absence.

Good News for The Jags!

Sprains can be slower to heal than breaks. He may come back, but I doubt he will 100% this season.

Still, he may get back before the HC kills his QB by running him.

Good news is hard to come by down in Jacksonville.

Well, I don't think MJD will be questioning Jay Cutler's toughness anymore. MJD is always hurt and Cutler is tough as nails. Karma is a beeyatch MJD. Good luck with that contract

Yeah, if he's only out 3 games, they will be 1-8 when he comes back. Practically a lock to take the division from the hapless Texans after that.

Fantasy? Yeah, the Jags are a fantasy.

MJD better take care of the contract that he got and never mind worrying about an extension!

Good point! He cant understand the kinda pounding a QB takes on a regular basis....how would he react if another player went on Twitter and accused him of not being tough?

What comes around..
