09:38 PM ET 10.23 | Former women's world champion Miesha Tate took Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney to task recently for booking a female champion on the undercard of an upcoming event. Now Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney has returned fire ??? and the best part is that they're both right. Tate called out Rebney on Twitter (that's a thing, right?) for booking Zoila Gurgel, the reigning Bellator 115-pound female champion, on the undercard of this Friday's Bellator 78. Rebney responded today, claiming his decision had everything to do with Gurgel's long layoff (it's been over a year since her last fight). The debate is interesting because both sides are technically right.
