08:10 AM ET 10.24 | The Marlins are, yet again, in search of a manager. The next manager will be the fifth for the Marlins since June 2010, and eighth since [owner Jeffrey Loria] gained ownership of the franchise in 2002. Only the Seattle Mariners have had as many managers in that time. Bobby Valentine, who was Loria???s choice to replace fired manager Fredi Gonzalez in 2010, is "definitely not" a candidate to replace Guillen, according to a source. Nor is former Marlins third baseman Mike Lowell, who has also been mentioned as a possible hire. Lowell said in an email that he was not interested in managing at this time. The Marlins intend to interview several candidates for the job. One of them could be former Marlins backup catcher Mike Redmond.

I don't think they have to hire a Latin man to get along with people of Miami, like in most sports towns the answer is simple win and they will come no matter who is the manager.

There probably aren't too many managerial candidates that will put up with a meddling, knucklehead owner like Loria.

I think they will trade Stanton. He has a ton of value and he is young. Prospects are the way for the Marlins, it always has been. Get back to what you know Marlins!

Tim Flannery, he's a deadhead, what else can I say. Tim is the man, an aggressive 3rd base coach who plays to win. Being a SoCal guy, South Beach might not be his cup of tea though

oh, only because they could have had Ausmus and kept their player (Aviles was it?). It would only irritate them though if Ausmus turns out to be a better manager than Farrell. I think there is a good chance of that, but you never know. At least it sounds like Farrell has the full support of the Red Sox management.
