08:09 AM ET 10.24 | Just a few days after placing starting cornerback Chris Gamble on the injured reserve list, Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason is expected to face the same fate. Beason has been struggling with a knee injury all season after coming back from a torn Achilles suffered last year and he has acknowledged that surgery may be the best move for his future. "I've been pretty banged up, it's been week-to-week," Beason told Mike Solarte of News 14 Carolina. "We decided 'Hey lets take another look at the knee, see what's going on.' Got the MRI yesterday, didn't look good. "Probably going to have to have surgery, and if I do that, going to end up on IR. Probably what we're going to do moving forward, probably early next week. It's part of the business, man. you can't control injuries."

Carolina's woes continue to mount. Should speed up the housecleaning.

Damn... I tried to pick him up to fill in behind MJD... Sheesh.

At least he looks awesome in that visor.

So sad... signs a big contract last offseason... blows his achilles... comes back, and now this.... not looking good for the Panthers at all... hope he comes back healthy and most importantly effective on the field... hopefully this injury doesn't hinder his skills or the Panthers are screwed...

It's not like he was essential. With a whole one win he is clearly not needed on the field.

That and he hasn't recovered fully from that Achilles injury

Carolina & Kansas City, who would have thought these two teams would have fallen so fast?

Thats EXACTLY why GM Hurney was fired!!!!! He gave HUGE deals to players who are CONSTANTLY INJURED (See Stewart and Beason)!!! Then you turn around and draft Kuechly to play MLB the year AFTER you gave Beason a huge deal, the same year he missed 15 games due to the achilles problem...SMDH

SO GLAD HURNEY IS GONE!! GTFOH

Injury, poor coaching, lack of depth, terrible supporting cast, no secondary, porous O-line...but aside from that we're a decent team

*releases sarcasm key*
