Players now even more defiant

08:20 AM ET 10.24 | Though a deal could be struck at any time, with Thursday's deadline looming, relations between the NHL and the NHLPA seemed to be headed in the wrong direction on Tuesday. [NHLPA sources] said you can expect the union is likely interviewing players right now to find out what transpired and whether there has been any violation with the law that is actually worth pursuing. Agents said the league's "divide and conquer" tactics appeared to further suggest the NHL wasn't interested in serious bargaining but working behind the scenes. "It's made the players more defiant [against the league]," said one agent. Said union source, "Everybody is pissed off about it."

Nope. Fans are sheep. They'll be back and pay whatever ticket prices are set at.

And lets not forget the infamous words of Jimmy Develano recently either...
Players' are cattle.
I got a perspective on this recently by an reading an interview with Don Cherry.
He mentions...that Jimmy is one of the quietest and nicest people you will ever meet and he says that...imagine what guys like Snider and Jacobs think?

Exactly. I vowed in 1994 to see NYR's get one more Cup before I die. Judging by the last Cup which took 54 years; I have to live until 2048 and the ripe old age of 80. So of course I will be back :)

I WISH this would happen and i mean it...i hope the fans stay away in droves and the league can kiss its share of revenue's GOOD BYE..IF there was 50% capacity in every arena that would be a dream come true....THAT IMO would show the league to never ever lock out its players again.

I'm with Hank. I'll probably watch on tv, but doubt I'll ever go to an NHL game again. Still will try to see the occasional AHL game in person, tho.
