[Davidson], who spent the past seven seasons restoring the St. Louis Blues to prominence, is close to an agreement to join the Blue Jackets as president of hockey operations, The Dispatch has learned. ... Neither Davidson nor Blue Jackets president Mike Priest was available for comment. Davidson, 59, would serve directly under majority owner John P. McConnell, giving him authority over general manager Scott Howson, assistant general manager Chris MacFarland and the rest of the hockey operations department. If Davidson's time in St. Louis is an indication, he will not shy away from adding seasoned hockey executives to build a winner in Columbus.

First of all, JD's 1st season at the helm was '06 - '07, so that's only 6 seasons. But never let the Facts get in the way of the story...
Secondly... How did JD return the Blues to prominence? Sure they had a great season last year - but didn't make the playoffs 4 of the 6 years he was there (including the 2 years before last season)...
