10:21 AM ET 10.24 | With the news that starting inside linebacker Sean Lee will undergo season-ending toe surgery, the Dallas Cowboys are in desperate need for depth in the middle of their defense and they already have a player in mind. The Cowboys will bring in former 2006 top-ten pick Ernie Sims for a visit and he is expected to sign with the team. Sims has had stints with Detroit, Philadelphia and Indianapolis but has been unable to live up to his draft status. While he was a starter in his most recent gig at Indianapolis, Sims would join the Cowboys as a backup behind Dan Connor and Bruce Carter. There is currently only one other inside linebacker on the team - undrafted rookie Orie Lemon - so the Cowboys need any help they can get.

Alright!! Not sure it will work out for my 'Boys but I hope it does. I loved him while he was with my 'Noles, he was good with Detroit, but I hadn't heard much out of him since he went to Philly. I can't forsee him starting but he definitely gives us a nice veteran insurance policy behind Carter and Connor.
