Bettman: Full NHL season seems unlikely

04:38 PM ET 10.24 | Speaking at a press conference in Brooklyn on Wednesday, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said that stalled negotiations with the NHL Players' Association will likely force the official cancellation of games and end the hope for an 82-game NHL season. Bettman said that since the NHLPA is unwilling to work off of the proposal offered by the league last week, the league will be forced to shorten the season. Bettman has set a Thursday deadline to complete a new CBA deal, with a hopeful puck drop on November 2.
