Opener in jeopardy for Bynum

07:40 AM ET 10.25 | An already dinged-up Sixers roster won't be seeing Andrew Bynum on the court any time soon, either. An optimist would look at Wednesday's news and say that, while Bynum has had knee troubles in the past, this is a particular injury and the team is just practicing caution in delaying his return. A pessimist would wonder whether the Sixers invested a lot of money in a player who can't seem to stay healthy. Bynum and his new organization are positive this is nothing more than a bump in the road, though the 7-footer hasn't been running or doing any basketball-related activities. "Every day that he is not here on the court diminishes his chances of being there for the opener," [general manager Tony DiLeo said].

Even if bynum wasn't injury prone he is not better then dwight. Bynum healthy at best will give you 18-20 a game like dwight and bynum is supposaly a better offensive player. But dwight is a game changing defensive monster. Bynum is not as good as howard imo.

They definately did. Lakers don't even need dwight to be a big offensive threat. If he plays his usual defensive player of the year way, lakers are the only team that has a legit shot to beat miami. Sadly said by a knicks fan.....

The LA move looks better and better. Feel bad for Bynum. Injuries suck.

Most definitely an upgrade. I still like Bynum, and I think he will be fine in Philadelphia, but the Lakers definitely upgraded themselves in picking up Howard.
