07:43 AM ET 10.25 | A new kind of Linsanity has taken root, this time in Houston, where the point guard's evolution -- or lack thereof -- is charted so much more intensely. [Lin] continued to struggle with his shot Wednesday but in some ways saw progress. He had another in a series of preseason games in which he did many things well and got good shots for himself and teammates. But he made just one of eight attempts, taking six of those shots at the rim in the face of converging big men. "For me, it's progress," Lin said. ... "Do I wish I played better? Of course. But I have to be realistic and understand when I came into training camp I couldn't even get into the paint, and now I can get into the paint, but I'm not finishing. The next step is to start finishing."

And this guy had the nerve to complain about why the Knicks didn't match the offer.

Dude.. did you not watch the game or something? Melo was 4-13. At some point he was 1-9. The guy is a volume overrated scorer. He can score like many other players but unlike many another players he doesn't do anything else. Look at his shooting percentage and he's supposedly in top shape with an Olympic gold. Melo's a fraud like a sub prime mortage.

Now on Lin, it's clear the guy has some talent. However management decided to forget the future and focus on 'now' so I can understand... and yes Linsanity died when Melo got back from his injury... that's fact.

I really like Lin as a person. He's quite introspective and brute honest with himself. Not many people can do that. Even though he's struggling in certain aspects of the game he admires the progress he's made in other aspects. In due time he will become a complete package. No qualms there.

Just like rookie pitchers, the rest of the league figured out Lin's game. He can't surprise anyone anymore.

Really? When did he "complain'? he just took the better offer on the table, and Knicks didn't wanna match.
The complaint infact was from MANY Knicks fans themselves (including many on this forum).

Knick fans need to get over it leave his kid alone. There are PLENTY of people with ridiculous contracts for what they do. That's just the NBA. You don't have to look too far for those players other than in your own locker room !!
