08:21 AM ET 10.26 | Despite a report to the contrary, the Angels are apparently not intent on letting Torii Hunter walk. "Finding a way to fit Torii in is a challenge, but we have been open that we want him back," General Manager Jerry Dipoto said Thursday. "We haven't closed the door on Torii and he hasn't closed the door on us." Earlier in the day, MLBTradeRumors.com, citing an unnamed source, reported that a deal between Hunter and the Angels was unlikely. Hunter presents a difficult situation for the Angels because he is 37, an age when players are likely to decline, but he's coming off one of his best seasons. He's also considered a valuable leader in the clubhouse, including his role as a mentor to young superstar Mike Trout.

Yeah...it seems like Trout has a good idea as to how to play the game the right way.

You need to keep him on Mr. GM so you can watch the decline in Tori and think about what will number 5 look like someday when you still owe him a pocket full of money.

Bourjos doesn't look like he is going to hit, but if he does Hunter is a good 4th OF, and if he doesn't Hunter is the starter. Just keep the contract short.

The angels would likely continue struggling for many seasons to come, the main baseline its a conssistant catcher behind the plate where the majority of pitchers feed off them selves, lower ERA, better quality starts short innings everything thanks to the discipline by the right calls, higher ERA means the rotation lacks in stability and something very important its missing :-) :-)
