Wiggins to make UK class one for the ages?

08:27 AM ET 10.26 | Why wait, right? High school basketball's best junior is now high school basketball's best senior. Andrew Wiggins, the 6-foot-8 superstar wing player who is a primary recruiting target of the University of Kentucky, reclassified from the 2014 class to 2013 on Thursday. ... UK has long been thought to be well-positioned in the recruitment of Wiggins. It's the same with Florida State, where Mitchell Wiggins played and Wiggins' mother ran track. Coaches from North Carolina, Ohio State and Kansas have visited [Huntington (W.Va.) Prep school] this week and are working to get involved, too. If Wiggins were to commit to UK, the Wildcats' class -- which is already No. 1 with four five-star pledges -- would become one for the ages.

I wonder if Bob Knight could be in the same room with Cal?

No. Bob Knight has gone on record with his disgust for what coaches like Cal, street agents, AAU connections and the Fab Five have done to college basketball. Bob Knight would kick Calipari's sleazy butt at the very least if they were in the same room.

Or at the very least throw a chair at him!

He could not even come close to kicking his butt, so he could only throw chairs, then run.

and Cal would throw money ...

reclassified from 2014 to 2013 because of all the work in the classroom that he did over the summer. riiiiiiiiiiight.

If the member institutions of the NCAA are willing to be the one year training league for the NBA, don't act surprised that some schools target the players most likely to benefit from the one and done rules. AAU involvement is a different matter. It may well be that a black market has developed, but how will you enforce the existing rules? You can't think the schools that pay-for-play(ers) will report themselves, and the handlers sure aren't going to say anything. The only way this breaks down is if some of the handlers get caught by the Feds for income tax evasion. In the meantime, relax and enjoy the show.

Call Coach Cal what you want.. he's just playing by the rules that the NBA and NCAA put in front of him.. and he's doing it better than anyone else in the country.. thats why these kids want to go to UK.. its the most direct and fastest path to the NBA.. and as far as I'm concerned.. Calipari isn't doing anything that any other college coach isn't doing..
and as for Bobby Knight.. he's never has liked Kentucky.. after all the beatings UK put on IU.. the man holds a grudge

Bobby Knight is supposed to be this respected elder statesman for college basketball. Short memories forget that he choked one of his own players and got fired from Indiana because he was an arse that couldnt win any more.

October 29, 2012  04:49 PM ET

Bobby Knights record against UK was 15 and 18. His last ten years 3 and 7. He got fired from Indiana not because he choked that player but because he quit winning. He hates UK because he is an egomaniac who was hero worshiped because he won some basketball games. If he hadnt been who he was he would have spent time in jail for things he did. I can see why he and everyone else might say he is such a better human being than Calipari. Kiss our big blue......

It's amazing the lies that UK fans tell to themselves so they can sleep at night.
