08:41 AM ET 10.26 | Presumably, by the time the Islanders are slated to move to Brooklyn, the NHL will be playing again. In the meantime, [Lou Lamoriello] said the Islanders' move to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the 2015-16 should have no impact on the Devils' ability to draw fans at the Prudential Center in Newark. ... In fact, Lamoriello said the move is positive as far as the Devils are concerned. "I don't think it affects the Devils one way or another, other than there is more excitement when you go to play in a new building," the GM said. "The rivalry will be at its highest level, but there will be an excitement going into that building. Just like there is an excitement going into Madison Square Garden because of the historic aspect."

Lou knows that since they have no fans to begin with there will be no impact on their numbers...

Did I just read that?
Really?
Excitement and Devils in the same context...Well, I have to say, that never would have occurred to me.

He is ornery due to the lockout like the rest of us

If for no other reason than georgraphic there is indeed a rivalry, but it lacks the emnity that NYR/NJD or NYI/NYR have, so to compare it to that is just silly. trying to build a buzz, sounds like a league directive to justify the move

Canuck. The office has better an less recycled jokes then the above. And if you have seen the office this year you will get how horrid that statement is. Same two jokes over and over from golden bay. Toronto fans then chime in because attendance is important to them. Then certain ranger fans will chime in. It's like we have become the football threads. Say something funny once then beat that dead horse to a pulp. And yes I'm cranky there's no hockey. So having to read jokes that have been recycled 150 times is just salt in the wound. There's. that's my complaint for the morning.

you know what, I made a valid point, I saw no repetition in it at all. (unless you were talking about OTHER NYR fans) I see a lot of the same things in here...yeah...I'm cranky too...I would rather be discussing last night's games too, but it is a nice diversion...until certain political animals dive in here...I know, I used to be one in here, but no more...

You aren't the only one. Try being a Philly fan and hearing all the stale jokes about Santa Claus and snowballs and booing. It gets old but it won't stop. So, you can get annoyed or you can just have fun with it. And, let me tell you there is nothing more fun than a snowball with a D battery in the middle of it ready to go at the first sighting of the jolly olde one ;)

Snowing Santa really is quite unforgivable though.

Please forgive me for mistaking all the Devils fans dressed as seats during their playoff run...

I'd be happy if there was some sort of hockey to watch. I was forced to watch a couple innings of baseball. I keep reading about this CBA and am just sulking. Man do I wish someone could make fun off the attendance of the game last night. Instead just broad generalizations. How stupid are these people. They actually agreed on 50/50 split and are to stupid to realize it. Why am I forced to watch baseball. Do they realize how boring that is.

And as for the isles move. Good for them. This won't effect the devils or rangers at all. But I do hope for the isles cw stops using the excuse of an arena as a crutch and actually puts money into the team now. Plus he will be able to get revenue sharing when they play hockey so he really has no excuses not to ya know put money into a team.

And spiny I know you we're talking about the article. Which is why I said some ranger fans.
