Why Wang is no hero

08:32 AM ET 10.26 | In some corners, Charles Wang is being hailed as a hero. He is, in fact, likely the cheapest, most misguided owner this league has seen in some time. No other owner would refuse to furnish its general manager with an assistant GM, but Wang's Islanders leave Garth Snow to his own devices. The team has no president, a vital position in the hierarchy of all the other functional clubs. It has hired a succession of minor league head coaches to their first NHL job, mostly because they all work for cheaper than coaches with NHL experience. ... You wouldn't put your men's league team in their practice rink, a gulag that gives the team a bad name among NHL free agents. Right down to the press meal, this organization has a sour taste and a bad smell.

Someone doesn't have their facts straight.
If you could find anyone claiming Wang is some type of a hero...there wouldn't be any corners in the room.

October 26, 2012  09:21 AM ET

was wondering who looked at him as anything but a tightwad businessman?
And they're right about the practise rink. I used to work right next door to it....what a dump...but then, so is the Colessium

If there were, they would be padded.

Ah, so we get to the last sentence and we find the axe to be ground. Feed the peasants, Wang, let them eat cake.

Or how about Dewanna Bonner as one of his assistants?

Thought the same thing. He was doing fine up until the complaint about the press room food. If you don't like it, bring your own.

As long as it isn't Michael Vick (don't eat the meat) if Wang does.

Who was talking championships, I was referring to the relevancy to NY fans

Last I checked, New York was a state, not just a city.
