12:57 PM ET 10.26 | New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will not play on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, according to Adam Schefter. Hernandez did not travel with the team to London, but many suspected that he could fly to England later in the week. ESPNBoston's Mike Reiss reported that Hernandez "was expecting to be a new dad," and that was possibly what held him up. Instead, Schefter reports that Hernandez's ankle was not responding to treatment, and that the tight end was struggling to cut. He will also have next week to recover, as the Patriots have their bye week.

Brady has some targets, but this is like a flat tire on a tri-sport.

Bummer. But, better to have him healthy for the second half of the season than for one game in London.

I would have lied to the Doctor's to get over to London early...

Then start hobbling around... but I'd be in London already :-)

Didn't he play last week ?

He did, and he looked fine. But the question is, did he feel fine?

It's the Rams, and this way the guy has two weeks to get treatment and heal up.

Is it just me, or have the Pat's two best TEs been getting seriously dinged up ever since last year's playoffs? It seems they can't stay on the field.

Aaron looked terrible on a couple of plays against the Jest --- he slowed down on a sure touchdown from brady and failed to run to the corner of the end zone on a second sure TD --- he is running about 70% at beat and even a lineman could cover him now --- he is not helping his team at all
