Gilbert Melendez doesn't require surgery, still has no return date

05:50 PM ET 10.26 | Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez was scheduled to face Pat Healy in September before injuring his shoulder. According to Melendez, he's healing nicely, but doesn't know when he'll return. "There's no definite yes," Melendez said. "It all depends if his body is healing on time as we anticipate." According to Melendez, he'll know mid-November if a January return will be possible. Strikeforce has not announced a formal date, but told the media this month they plan to stage a show sometime in January 2013.
