Russell Wilson eyeing Lions secondary

05:02 PM ET 10.26 | Russell Wilson has had a solid rookie season. Through seven games he has completed 59.4% of his passes for 1,230 yards and has eight touchdowns to seven interceptions. That isn't going to make anyone say "wow", but as a rookie on a team with limited talent on offense, it is respectable. So is the Seattle Seahawks' 4-3 record, which has them one game out of first place in the NFC West. Wilson has a chance to be better than decent this weekend, though. The Seahawks are taking on the Lions, who have a slew of injuries on defense. DeAndre Levy, Jacob Lacey and Amari Spievey all missed practice on Thursday, while Bill Bentley, Louis Delmas, Stephen Tulloch and Corey Williams were all limited. That is a banged up Lions defense, especially in the secondary and in an interview with 710 ESPN in Seattle, Wilson talked about the opportunity he has against that Lions defense. "The biggest opportunity, obviously, is their secondary, just because they???ve had some guys in and out with injuries and everything, which is unfortunate for them. The key is getting the ball out on time, throwing an accurate football so our guys can make some plays. Obviously they have a tremendous, tremendous defensive line; their linebackers are playing at a high level. And they???ve made some plays in the defensive secondary as well."

I think Mr. Wilson is facing a team playing a must-win level of intensity. Could be a long day for him.

Perhaps, but the Lions are only in must-win mode because they've been a can't-win team.

That's all it takes to beat The Lions and if he's average that's pretty good for a young QB!!!

The 'Hawks have a good chance to win providing the receivers can actually catch the ball as they are paid to. Maybe they can give Wilson a couple of screen passes to slow down the Lions D...that would be novel!
