08:41 AM ET 10.27 | Hawks Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Steve Montador described the cancellations as a "scare tactic" by the league. "If there's a deal reached tomorrow, they can un-cancel those games, so I don't think it really means too much," said Kane, who frequently saluted the crowd of more than 11,649 on Friday. "It's to be expected. We knew they were going to come out with some cancellations. We knew it was coming."

The more the players talk, he more clueless they sound. Of course they should have seen it coming, the moment they inked Donald Fehrer to a contract to lead the NHLPA off a cliff.

You might enjoy this Rex.

You just keep thinking that, boys. Just keep listening to the sage advise of your hired gun and see where that takes you!

Just go on believing that the Fherer gives a **** about you and your game!

This is not MLB or the NFL. Fools!

Anytime dialogue from one of the greatest movies ever made is a part of the fabric of a piece like this one, I can hang for 8 minutes, Canuck...

That was well done.

The owners want a bigger piece of the pie, then turn around and give it all back to some 20 goal scorer.

Time to replace the hockey thread with a Olympics/Track thread. Like, are the Somalis and Kenyans talking smack at each other before the NYC Marathon?

The voices are getting louder Canuck...I have been saying all along that the fans need a united single voice...one that both sides are going to hear loud and clear for a long time to come so this crap stops and will never happen again at the end of every CBA deal.
I'm pissed off too.

Even better hearing the hookers screaming at each other across the street;)

Pointless. This whole bloody mess is pointless.

The owners say the players make too much money, that the model is unsustainable. Then sign marginal players to ever-increasingly insane amounts of money.

The players say that the owners are greedy and unprincipled. But then look the other way when said insane contracts are handed out, despite knowing what they will ultimately reset the compensation hierarchy league-wide, ultimately driving up the costs of tickets, and pricing more and more fans out of the game.

"Millionaires fighting with billionaires over how to divide the pie," is what I keep hearing. But what I have YET to hear is either side say something to the effect of, "You know what? We need to lower ticket prices and make the game more accessible to the average fan. We need to quit worrying about asking municipalities to build us new arenas with loads of corporate luxury suites and just be concerned with making sure we have enough cheap seats such that even a busboy can catch a game once in a while without having to worry about making his rent. We need to expand the ice so that it's fit for the men of the modern era to play on without having to resort to gimmicks to decide games because the ice is so congested. We need to think less about how to make more money, and more about how to make a better product."

NHL...NHLPA...a pox on both your Houses...

I like the picture of the players playing golf. I probably wouldn't be able to afford to play there. The moe both sides talk the more I start to care less.

True...

Let them lock you out there losing also its like that in the work force. Trying to break the unions ...stay out its not the end of the world if we don't see hockey this year ....when the owners offer you millions in contracts what are you suppose to say oh. Know that's too much. ...

Okay I know this fits the 'get a life' profile but it's after 10 am EDT and no new hockey thread?

They actually posted 2 MMA threads around 7 am. WTF? Out of the 5 MMA threads posted on Friday they generated 1 (not a typo) comment. I know we don't have the 13 year old boys discussing video games to push our comment totals into the hundreds but Come On Man!
