08:54 AM ET 10.27 | Notre Dame will be without one of its top playmakers Saturday when it battles 8th ranked Oklahoma in Norman. ESPN.com's Matt Fortuna reports that kickoff returner and running back George Atkinson III did not travel to the team to Norman due to a illness. Atkinson was scheduled to be on Brian Kelly's Radio Show Thursday night but was a late 'scratch.'

Golson's still the key on offense, Van.

We're going to have to have at least some limited effective passing for the run game to go at all.

kelly has a great motivator-11 point spread-no respect-come out with attitude-atkinson does hurt but nd has others to step up-the d has to come up big-3 and out-this is going to be golsons breakout game-elusive and fast-time for him to show his ability and get the job done-nd defense will quiet the crowd-nothing better when the only ones cheering are the visiting spectators

I pray he stays healthy, Stanford knew enough to knock him out of the game but the Irish still prevailed in the end.

Is that an innuendo?

Atkinson is a burner, but if there is one position where ND has depth its RB.
He'll be missed, but its not a significant issue.
Five hours to kickoff; GO IRISH!!!!!

Better sick than what happened to Lattimore... Sad day for him. Definitely looked bad. Hope it is recoverable and he can have an opportunity at the next level.
