08:19 AM ET 10.28 | Former Twins and Indians catcher Mike Redmond impressed the Marlins in his interview and is still considered the favorite for the managerial job, though not a sure thing, with Reds pitching coach Bryan Price also having some support. The odds are against Larry Bowa, who interviewed Friday. Ex-Marlin Luis Gonzalez, mentioned elsewhere as a possibility, had not been contacted as of Saturday.

He should be, he's played there and is well aware of the Crazy things that go on, and he's done some pretty good things in the minors!!! New Blood!

The only reason I guess Redmond wants the job is for the money, and he can say he was a big league manager, and will be fired long before the Marlins get back to the playoffs.

Man, that will get the fans excited.

That means the marlins aren't a competitive franchise next season!!

Either the Herald completely makes stuff up, or that is a pretty porous front office.

You are talking about the cards which is a different organization, the marlins have an owner WHO allways messin with the team, poor results would send their manager home just like that :-) :-)

In what regard?

Miami should have at least tried for Terry Francona when he was available. Despite all our problems on the field and in the front office South Beach has got to be more appealing than Cleveland! That said, I like Redmond - catchers make good Managers. i.e. Joe Girardi (Yankees), Mike Scioscia (Angels), Jim Leyland (Tigers), Joe Maddon (Rays), Bruce Bochy (Giants), Bob Melvin (A's), Ned Yost (Royals), Fredi Gonz??**** (Braves), Eric Wedge (Mariners), Mike Matheny (Cardinals).
