At long last, Tebow time?

08:01 AM ET 10.29 | Mark Sanchez again struggled in a dispiriting loss Sunday, complete with boos raining down from Jets fans and more calls for Tim Tebow. Sometimes change for the sake of change works, and after four losses in five games, including two blowout defeats at home, change is in order. The biggest argument against benching Sanchez is that it will destroy him psychologically, to the point that he never will be a viable starter again. Nonsense. More established players than Sanchez have been asked to chill on the bench -- even Alex Rodriguez! -- and many eventually have returned successfully. And if a benching does ruin Sanchez emotionally, he wasn't suited to the role of long-term New York quarterback in the first place.

If Mark can't handle it, then he isn't a NFL QB anyway. Sometimes you need to make a change, even if it may not seem to make sense, to try and spark something. Like him or hate him, Tebow was able to inspire the Broncos last year and help them make the playoffs and win a playoff game. Sometimes that spark is all you need.

Look at it from the other point of view. What exactly has Mark Sanchez done to earn the job as starting QB?

He went to USC.

yes, yes we did.

Who is Rex going to whine about this week? 2 weeks ago it was the hurry-up offense in New England, last week it was something something Reggie Bush.

October 29, 2012  08:41 AM ET

Oh, and Rex didn't "see it coming" in reference to getting blown out by Miami.

Face it Rex, you're done.

The only advantage to them continuing to play Sanchez is that it ensures that after this year both he and that toad they call a coach will be removed from the national consciousness...

Tebow's mechanics are as smooth as the pre-oiled Tinman, so I guess he will line up in the shotgun, run to his left, and pick up two yards. Great offensive strategy!

If we go to TEBOW time then REX should be fired.

Yet, that's what got the Broncos to the playoffs last year.

Yeah, but the Broncos had the advantage of a better defense and thin air.

Tebow ain't the answer, go to the 2nd back-up, old whats-his-name, and give him a chance....

Can't we all just agree that it's nice to see the Jets in shambles. Sanchez probably needs a change of scenery at this point in his career, and Tebow is just awful. He's shown some positive signs (at times), but he obviously isn't getting the job done. Tebow's skills, intelligence, decision-making, etc. will make it tough for him to be a long term solution for the Jets. So again, I say we all just sit back and enjoy the Jets' suffering.
