USC's struggles point to Kiffin

08:18 AM ET 10.29 | What a difference a year makes. Whatever respect Lane Kiffin built up last season for guiding the Trojans to a 10-2 record has been whittled away. Kiffin's antics during the season are head-scratching, making things often seem to be a lot harder than they need to be. The Trojans made a month's worth of mistakes in the Desert on Saturday afternoon. This team seems to flop any time it's faced with pressure, and that all goes back to the head coach. Going into the season there was a lot of talk about a certain USC player potentially being the first pick in the draft. After two months of the season, it's clear the Trojans best player is sophomore WR Marqise Lee, not Matt Barkley.

I guess CBS sports missed the part where it was the backup QB wearing Barkley's jersey that actually threw those two interceptions on Saturday.

Bingo. This article is what you call tendentious: the writer already knew where he wanted to go and what he wanted to do and that was to indict Kiffin. Forget about the facts. I'm no fan of Kiffin, but the "problems," which are supposed to have existed from the beginning, really didn't crop up until this game. That's BS. Kiffin's a dope and not a great coach at all, but the writer is a total idiot.

Barkley will still be drafted high in the first round.

Well at least he will be drafted higher than Landry Jones. LOL. If Jones can pass for 350 yards against Notre Dame, then maybe, just maybe Barkley can do the same.

Of course. Here's a hint to football fans since they seem to forget this fact. Even great players have bad games every now and then. The guy across the LOS thinks he is good, too, and is not going to just give you the game.... unless he plays for auburn.

Not sure if serious. Bruce Feldman is one of the best out there.

Barkley will shine in the ND game. It's in LA before a huge audience and I think the last game he plays at the Colosseum. Possible upset all depending on Barks.

He was suspended for writing the book for Leach about James - and espn did not like that, even when he got permission in advance.

I don't think any of us know all the fact. If what you say is true, that Feldman "got permission in advance", then why was he suspended??? Could he have sued ESPN for wrongfully suspending him? Just asking!!!

He has a hawt wife......he retains the job

A lot of sports writers at the time bashed ESPN for getting rid of Feldman. I always thought Feldman's articles were pretty good and not the typical hack writing just to get attention BS.
