08:20 AM ET 10.29 | Coach Gene Chizik won't go there. [Chizik] said Sunday he's sure there are "a lot of upset fans" over Auburn's 1-7 record, but his main concern is to try to continue to turn around the team's misfortunes. "I don't really have time for all of the outside -- although I respect everybody's opinion -- I don't have time to investigate into that," Chizik said. "I'm sure that there are a lot of upset fans. When you're 1-7, that comes with the territory." Chizik, as he did after Saturday's 63-21 loss to Texas A&M, refused to discuss his job status with reporters. ... "I've got one focus and that's for our young guys to go out there and win, and that's it," Chizik said. "I'm not going down that path."

Maybe Aubit and UTx can play in the "Can't tackle bowl" in Shreveport.

At least the fans could gamble and skip the game.

63-21 at home to a conference foe is grounds for firing. That's just a good old fashioned **** whipping. What he did "recently" is REALLY looking like it's a long way back in the rear view mirror. The big $$ boosters will be howling for his head.

Chiz is fricked. Might become the DC at Texas before next season.

UTx already can't tackle. Why bring him in?

With a few adult beverages to help them forget their lousy seasons.

No way. But, that would make sense. But most land thieves I know around here want UTx to keep Mack and the entire current staff.

No coach will ever discuss being fired. What purpose would it serve for them to talk about it? Actually, it would be more detrimental to the team... in this situation, the team couldn't get any worse, but that is the reason no coach discusses this issue.

I hate this.....wanted Arky to have the only opening in SEC. Looks like candidates that want to compete in the SEC can now pick from Arky, Tenn, and Aubie jobs......

Kentucky, too but they really don't count

BSB is a closet Ole Miss fan this week.

Not even closet, really.

Get your Hotty Toddy on, BSB! Grab yourself a nice mixed drink with an umbrella, put on some khakis and a red/blue pullover, and you'd fit right in. 8-/

The mixed drink, yes. Umbrella, no. I don't have nice enough shoes or sun glasses. I am not frat enough to hang out in the Grove.

Bull in a china tent.

But still Hotty Toddy!!!

Darryl Rodgers left Michigan State to become the head coach of the Detroit Lions. After a couple of seasons of Lions ineptitude, he clearly wanted out. At one weekly press conference, when asked about his job security, he said, "what's a fella got to do to get fired around here?" He was fired - I think at the end of the season.

Chizik was 7-2 everyone would be happy.

This could be said about every coach in America who currently has a losing record, and some that don't
