01:41 PM ET 10.29 | The Philadelphia Eagles have had a rough start to their season and it has turned head coach Andy Reid into a desperate man as he fights to save his job. First, defensive coordinator Juan Castillo was used as the team's scapegoat and relieved of his duties by the team. Now, the Eagles need to point the finger at someone else. Philadelphia's new scapegoat is none other than quarterback Michael Vick, who has been plagued with turnovers to start the season. Michael Fabiano of the NFL Network tweeted early this afternoon that the Eagles plan to bench Vick this week and roll with rookie signal-caller Nick Foles against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9.

This is the part where we find out that Mike Vick isn't the only overrated player on the Eagles roster.

My thoughts exactly

Most of us, me included, didn't think he would be good enough to play when he came back from his prison time. Then, we didn't think he'd be good enough to start. But, I will have to admit that he proved us wrong. He was back to being the exciting guy, and I mean that in both directions, that he always was.

But, nothing lasts forever. All things must pass.

Well said.

Vick's physical abilities were always jaw-dropping. However, I never much respected him as a QB. Not sterotyping here either. I loved watching Warren Moon throw the football, beautiful passer. Vick was always a run-first, chaos-in-the-pocket type who didn't allow WRs to complete routes before leaving Dodge. Hard to win consistently in this league with that mentality. And, over time, you can't argue the mixed results with him as a starter. He is the poster boy for inconsistency.

Reid picked a good week to start Foles. He gets to face the Saints' swiss cheese defense.

I torpedoed it!

The season is done for. Vick doesnt seem they guy anymore and Reid surely must be on his out.

Very sage. Although Vick might benefit from a change of place.

Foles looks good in preseason.... its time for him to play!!!

Vick could still have a future with a steady QBed team who needs a clipholder who can provide a good change of pace, somewhere like the Texans or a team like that.
But the way the NFL works he'll either end up with the Bills or the Jets.

But so did the Eagles as a team.... We will see. Something has to give...

Great, I hope Foles has good health insurance.

As to Vick bolting out of the pocket too soon, what pocket was that ? Did you ever see a pocket that was more than a convient place to store the body ? That O Line could not protect anyone for more than 2 seconds. Watch the reruns, how many sacks were by an untouched defender ? Yea it was all Vick's fault Bring in some more Christians, Philly is going to need them
