03:07 PM ET 10.29 | The San Antonio Spurs will begin their season without star guard Manu Ginobili. Ginobili has a back injury and will not be with the team when they travel to face the New Orleans Hornets on Tuesday. He is expected to be re-evaluated on Thursday, at which point a more firm timetable for his return will be established. Ginobili had played limited minutes in the preseason due to back and foot injuries.

QUOTE(#1):

...and so it begins. The Spurs are starting off on the wrong foot already. Time to reload/rebuild while their players still have some value?

Are you saying the Spurs should trade away any of Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili? I know its a business but thats just wrong !

It's the beginning of an 82 game season. It doesn't matter if Ginobli or Duncan or Parker are healthy now. It only matters that they are healthy in April, May and June.

Get well Manu.

I'm betting it's due to the new 'flop' rule...he's flopped so much in his career, it's no wonder his back hurts.........
