Winter Classic cancellation could come Thursday

03:40 PM ET 10.29 | ESPN New York reports that the NHL could cancel the Winter Classic on Thursday. The league owes the University of Michigan, hosts of the Jan. 1 outdoor showcase, a $250,000 payment on Friday, and a cancellation Thursday would relieve the league of that burden.

I think it's gone. And once it is I think there's less than a 50-50 chance for the NHL to resume this season. Doesn't matter much now IMO.
