Racist chants target Simmonds in Europe

04:42 PM ET 10.29 | Racist chants rained down on Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds on Sunday. Simmonds, playing for Liberec of the Czech Extraliga, was in Chomutov on Sunday to take on the Pirates. A small fight broke out during the game, and afterwards as officials were breaking things up, the crowd chanted "Opice!" at Simmonds, which translates to "Monkey!" in English. Chumotov hockey officials apologized for the incident.

This can't be true can it? I thought racism existed only in Canada and the US. Just like religious bigotry. That couldn't happen in a place like Pakistan or any Muslim country could it? Except maybe for 14 year old girls shot in the head. Or cartoonists who insult the Prophet.

Don't know anything about them. Must be true though..............at least for some. Being serious for a change.................it never ceases to amaze me how bigoted, cruel and rude some folks are everywhere. I could see it in the middle ages but in this day and age it's inexcusable. Calling these guys "redneck hillbillies" is an insult to most rednecks.
