It remains to be seen whether the Nuggets' starting point guard will sign a new contract -- or if he'll become a restricted free agent this summer -- if he doesn't sign a deal by Wednesday's deadline. ... The fear, from a Nuggets fan's standpoint, is that another team will front-load a contract offer to Lawson this summer, which could make it more difficult for Denver to match it. The Nuggets' brass has said repeatedly that Lawson is the future of the franchise. But as Lawson pointed out multiple times Monday, "It's a business. ... If we don't get it done now, something will get done (in the summer), with another team or here. We'll see."

Also if you look at his strenghts, it's his speed. Not shooting or play making.
That will probably last another couple years at best. Unless he develops some other parts of his game, he'll be easily neutralized.

It's not so much them that feel they are max guys... it's their agents trying to milk whatever they can from a franchise because they reap the rewards too ya know...

I didn't see him saying he wants a Max contract.

Dencer needs to get this done. Someone will give Lawson a max deal. It isn't a question of whether or not he deserves it. Denver can't afford not to sign him. Andre Miller can't give them 40 minutes anymore.

Way better then Jameer if you ask me... Lawson actually is alot more durable, but then again pretty much anyone in the league is more durable then Jameer...
