08:27 AM ET 10.30 | For the second time in as many years, Boise State enters the stretch run with a depleted secondary. The No. 19 Broncos have lost third cornerback Bryan Douglas for the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and suspended starting safety Lee Hightower indefinitely for an unspecified team-rules violation. The depth is shaky enough that coach Chris Petersen is considering taking a true freshman off the redshirt track and inserting him into the defensive backfield with just four regular-season games left. He did not identify candidates. ... "We're not going to waste anybody's year," Petersen said. "If we're going, we're going, and that guy's going to get good quality reps and it's going to springboard him into next year."

True...but I see more trying to copy the Bama/LUS and now ND philosophy. Just get great players in all the other 21 positions. Then a good QB is not as necessary.

As one of the national writers said, "only team BSU played worth a damn was a 4 loss MSU. They are now getting the benefit of the doubt, based on their previous rep, by being ranked, how ironic, huh?"
