08:34 AM ET 10.30 | Nearly a year later, Patrick Eaves is still recovering from the broken jaw and a concussion he suffered when he was hit on the side of the head by a shot. The jaw has long since healed, but the headaches and concussion-like symptoms continue. Eaves skates a couple of times a week with about a half-dozen of his locked-out teammates but said Monday that he is not close to being cleared to play. "Good days and bad days, still," Eaves said. ... He has not relinquished hope of making a full recovery. A couple of his former teammates, Andreas Lilja and Brad Stuart, came back after missing significant time due to a concussion. Eaves is seeing a specialist at the University of Michigan.

No such thing as "concussion-like" symptoms, they are simply concussion symptoms. No other condition produces those symptoms. Check your facts.

Since there is no hockey for the foreseeable future, plenty of time to recover. Habs all the way........uh in 2016...........maybe. "What do you think Gary, should I get optimistic for 2016"?

There is a silver lining to every dark cloud: he's one of the few NHL players who's getting a regular paycheck and ..... he doesn't have to deal with the pressure to get back on the ice too soon. Take your time Patrick. Get well ..... for next year's season.

He's getting paid and probably doesn't know that there is a lock-out.

Thanks! :)) Didn't even catch that. Was wondering where all the Abbot and Costello fans were. Now I know ;)

Thanks. Being inland helps weather storms like this. The NJ coast and NYC got clobbered, tho. Hope everyone there is safe today.

I hear there have been 33 storm related deaths reported so far...one in Toronto where a sign fell on her...
I'm sorry for them but did these people not know a hurricane was coming and should stay indoors...I saw a disturbing footage of a family all carrying shopping bags in the storm...on the street!
Even the homeless must have found shelter or I'm sure the numbers would be much higher....and the guy that took the Bounty out of its dock and was going to try to circumvent the storm?
With 17 crew members?
OK...so now his body can't be found.
Sorry....but I can hear Forest Gump's voice in my head right now...
