Jacobs was a healthy scratch

11:32 AM ET 10.30 | The 49ers lined up on Monday night without running back Brandon Jacobs but it wasn't because he was hurt. Jacobs was a healthy scratch against the Cardinals, declaring earlier in the week that he was healthy. "I'm ready whenever coach calls my name," Jacobs said last week. "I can't do anything about what's going on, but I can work hard and show coach that I'm ready, that I'm healthy." What makes the scratch somewhat surprising is that Frank Gore was banged up entering the game.

Like they needed him. Cards 'O' line is a No Line.

Either Harbaugh is saving him for the late-season push, or Jacobs is in the doghouse.

Brandon Jacobs was actually on the Shark Tank show last week, as a paid spokesman for an energy drink. He actually had to explain who he was, and what teams he played for.

I guess that's about the only way he's going to get on television these days....time to retire.

It's nice to have a spare running back ready to go. Most teams head down to the UPS loading dock and try to find some guy the day before the game.

It would appear that Harbaugh has no intention of using Jacobs unless Gore becomes an inactive.

Jacobs has nothing to offer to this team. Gore and Hunter are both fully capable of handling short yardage carries and Dixon at least offers a change of pace back. He is an insurance policy, nothing more. I remember a Giants fan on here posting that he wasn't getting carries only because he was injured. I called hogwash. Hate to say I told you so, but....

The way Gore and the other guy- Bently? ran like the wind. You don't need Jacobs.

I look for em to be used against the next game against the Rams. To get em started, and to keep Gore fresh for the Monday night showdown against Da Bears.

Too many "against." Dually noted.
