01:50 PM ET 10.30 | Steve Spurrier made headlines when he called out Dabo Swinney's program while relaying the Clemson thoughts kind wishes for injured star running back Marcus Lattimore, but a review of the actual comments reveals they really weren't all that outrageous or out of character: "I read one today from the head coach at our upstate school -- you know, that school that used to beat us a lot that doesn't beat us much anymore -- usually when that coach up there talks about South Carolina it's a bunch of garbage and a bunch of BS. Usually. But I have to agree with him on what he said the other day. He said, 'Marcus Lattimore stands for what's right about college football.'"

Because everything is news either in a good way or a bad way, and they have to make it an issue.

Agree it's not an "issue" in the sense that anything can/ should be done about it. We have come to expect smart A remarks form SOS. But in this instance it's particularly classless.

Steve Orr aka The Old Visor Tosser likely tossed his lunch just after saying something almost nice about Sweeney/Clemson.

Yep.
Usually I am entertained by tOBC's comments, but over the years he has proven not to have the good judgement to know when to lay off. This is one of those times.

Sometimes it's better to not say anything at all than to say soemthing crazy. Spurrier would have been better off saying, "Macus we're with you all the way." and then just sit down.

Not an issue of PC. Issue is timing, content, classlessness. Dad used to say, "when you've got nothing good to say, say nothing." Show some class next time, Steve.
