03:59 PM ET 10.30 | Ty Lawson officially has his big new contract. The Denver Nuggets guard agreed to a four-year, $48 million extension that will keep him with the Denver Nuggets through the 2017-18 season. Lawson had until October 31 to come to an agreement with Denver, and had it not come together, he would have become a restricted free agent next summer. Lawson averaged 16.4 points and 6.6 assists per game last year and is one of the NBA's rising young point guards.

Yes -- good for both sides.

I thought Harden would settle for something like this -- just to stay in OKC. (but obviously not -- he wanted the full MAX $)

People who are going to comment he's overrated or shouldn't get this deal should stop being obnoxious and don't bother to comment. The guy works HARD and hard work get paids. Done.

I can easily name 20 players who earn a lot more or the same who aren't even putting up the numbers or effort for it.

I heard he's getting 80million from Houston... yikes. Morey's making his MIT degree look worthless. 80 milion for a proven basketball player that's not ever top 50?

A single million dollars for a basketball is an overkill let alone multiples of it... I mean this guy makes more money than the president... whatdafurk!

Money's always misused when the person entrusted to spend it didn't earn it. Examples: Teenagers and congress...
