04:10 PM ET 10.30 | There was some doubt that Kobe Bryant would be in the lineup for the Los Angeles Lakers' season opener against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. Bryant has a right foot injury that kept him out of the end of the preseason, and he hadn't practiced in a week. But on Tuesday, Bryant eased most of Los Angeles' fears, telling reporters that he has an "85 percent" chance of playing through the pain. When someone like Bryant gives a figure that high, you have to think he's suiting up.

Kobe's too old for those kinda awards. Players like him and Duncan shdn't even play in the regular season... leave that to the scrubs that got something to prove. Relax and chill Kobe. Come back when ur strong than ever... even without you Lakers should win the title so why rush back to some opening day crap...

Hold on! NBA players can't count to 85!

We all know Kobe will play. There's simply no need for this drama at all. It's like he's seeking attention or something. Or wants to distract attention to himself rather than dwight's debut.

Maybe he's trying to take the pressure off of Howard in his Laker debut.
