Whisenhunt delivers harsh message to Cards

07:56 AM ET 10.31 | In terms of approach, Ken Whisenhunt has calm and level-headed down pat. But after Monday night's 24-3 loss to the division rival San Francisco 49ers, the Cardinals head coach apparently lost his cool. It wasn't so much that he yelled and screamed or pulled a Buddy Ryan and flipped over a chalkboard in the locker room. It was the message, not the tone. ... According to a couple of Cardinals, including defensive tackle and team leader Darnell Dockett, Whisenhunt called out some players by name in front of the entire team. Dockett also suggested that Whisenhunt called out some players who have been on the injured list and expressed how badly their teammates need them to grit their teeth and return to action.

They played over their heads at the start of the season and now are crashing back down to reality. Not pretty to watch.

He's probably saying, "Well, how much worse can injured players be if the healthy ones suck this much?"

I doubt that his job is in jeopardy. He made it to a Super Bowl, so to the idiot Bidwills, he is golden.
There is some talent on the defensive side of the ball on this team, but they aren't going to beat anyone with that horrible offensive line. They can't run block and they can't pass protect at all. I didn't see the Patriot game, but I have no freaking idea how they beat New England.
I wonder if anyone has ever gone from 4-0 to 4-12 in NFL history?

Down year? The Cards have had three (3) winning seasons since 1985, and two of those required Kurt Warner.
I don't blame The Wiz so much. He hasn't had much to work with.

It required a phantom penalty called by the replacement refs, and a really poor showing by the Pats.

The Patriots must have not shown up at all. I know they missed a FG at the end too, but I'm not sure why the game was even close.

That was the game where Aaron Hernandez got hurt early in the first quarter. The offense sputtered the rest of the way, like they didn't have enough plays available that didn't depend on him.

Like a lot of teams with no second string players, read cheap, as soon as one player gets hurt, it's like a crack in the dam.
